Meet the FAJ team

Aaron joined FAJ in 2024 as an auditor and is working towards his CPA. Committed to advancing his career while staying engaged with his passion for filmmaking as a committee member of a non-profit film association, Aaron is dedicated to professional and personal growth, balancing a life of numbers and creativity.

Adrian moved to WA from Victoria over 30 years ago and started a family. With extensive experience in business and finance, he’s been an accountant at FAJ since 1999. Adrian holds a Bachelor of Business as well as a Diploma in Financial Planning and offers consulting in business growth, planning, and retirement strategy.

Allan graduated from UWA in 2014 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting and Finance. Shortly thereafter, he joined FAJ and achieved CPA status. With over a decade of experience in tax and accounting, Allan has developed extensive expertise and prioritises working hard for his clients.

Amy is an FAJ accountant that commenced her professional career with the firm in 2022. She is currently working towards her CPA with the aim of furthering her accounting knowledge and expertise. Amy is inspired by the client focus at FAJ, which has allowed her to better understand and assist each client’s individual needs.

Anita is a senior accountant, having commenced at FAJ in 1998 while undertaking a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Her life at FAJ began full-time, she changed to part-time to raise her children, and has now returned to full-time. Having adult children allows Anita to spend her spare time reading, hiking and travelling.

Born in Tasmania, Ashlee and her family now embrace the West Australian lifestyle – cycling, beach days, and plenty of sports. At FAJ, she thrives on getting to know clients properly and tackling the ever-changing nature of administrative work. Having started an accounting degree in South Australia, Ashlee brings solid foundational knowledge to her role, making every day at FAJ absorbing and rewarding.

Basilia commenced at FAJ in 1987 and has progressed through a variety of roles to an integral position in our bookkeeping team. Bas says it’s the family friendly service that makes FAJ a great place to work. Her happy place is her vegetable garden, and her bucket list includes drinking and eating her way around Italy.

Bella started with the FAJ team as a bookkeeper, and has progressed to a graduate accountant role. Holding a Diploma of Accounting, Bella is currently completing the Institute of Public Accountants program to enhance her professional knowledge. With her friendly demeanour and passion for understanding client needs, Bella is a valuable asset.

Ben has worked in just about every area of taxation for his diverse client base during his 30 plus years with FAJ. His focus on helping clients to devise stategies for growth is assisted by his broad experience across every area of our services. Ben keeps up his energy with long walks on the golf course and trying to keep pace with his three young children.

Briahna is a Graduate Auditor at FAJ, having recently joined the team with a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin. She enjoys the detail-oriented nature of auditing and finds satisfaction in ensuring accuracy across all figures. With a strong desire to grow, she approaches each challenge proactively and with a commitment to developing her skills, looking forward to the opportunities ahead.

Brigette is a senior accountant who has been with FAJ for more than 20 years, applying her extensive experience in accounting, auditing and superannuation. Her attention to detail and understanding of client needs allows her to deliver tailored financial solutions, helping individuals and businesses achieve their goals with confidence and compliance.

Caleb is a CPA accountant who commenced with FAJ in 2020. Outside of work, he plays competitive football in the WAFL and loves to travel. Caleb embraces new experiences and diverse perspectives, which enriches both personal and professional growth. He is committed to delivering exceptional service and continuous development in all aspects of life.

Carmel started her career at FAJ as the Office Junior and after a few years was promoted to the role of Personal Assistant. She worked with ex-partner Mario Cattalini until his retirement in 2008 and currently assists Mike Babich as well as Partner Michael Basilio and his team. Carmel’s organisational skills are essential to our legendary efficiency and attention to detail.

Cynthia is passionate about her role as a Personal Assistant, a journey that began in 2007 as our Receptionist. She thrives on helping others and creating seamless experiences, with every day being an opportunity to make a positive impact. Her aim is to provide exceptional support, making every task a little easier for clients.

Daniel has been a part of the FAJ team since graduating from Murdoch University in 2007. As Partner in charge of our Auditing division, he works with not-for-profits, clubs, charities and trust accounts. A family man with three kids, Daniel volunteers on community boards and proudly supports the West Coast Eagles.

Georgia graduated from Curtin University in 2016 and soon after joined FAJ. With more than 9 years of experience, she has worked with a wide range of clients across various industries and business sizes. Georgia is dedicated to delivering the best outcomes for her clients through her expertise and commitment.

Gloria has been a valued member of FAJ since 1973, recently celebrating an incredible 50 years of service. She has supported retired Partner Hans Moonen and now excels as our Administration Manager. Gloria’s dedication, loyalty, and genuine care make her an integral and deeply appreciated member of our team.

Hayley is a Personal Assistant at FAJ, where she has been a highly valued and loyal team member since joining the team in mid 2014. Outside of her professional role, Hayley enjoys reading as well as collecting good books. Hayley also cherishes spending time with her young family and socialising with her friends over a good cup of coffee.

Heather’s time at FAJ is measured in decades rather than years, despite several escape attempts over that time – she just can’t drag herself away from our team and our clients. While she loves preparing financial statements and tax returns, her real passions are devouring epic fantasy novels, gardening, cooking and rescuing animals in distress.

We have a lack of astronomy jobs to thank for Jarrod bringing his talents to accounting. The challenge of solving puzzles and working with numbers is his favourite part of the profession, and he's excited about taking on more senior tasks at FAJ. When not working, you might find him crafting intricate leatherwork or defending the goal for his ice hockey team.

Jenny commenced her career with FAJ in 2005 as our Receptionist. Since progressing over the years to a Personal Assistant role Jenny has developed a great rapport with our clients and colleagues. Jenny is married with adult children and has two grandchildren. She looks forward to family time and enjoys weekend getaways in the caravan.

With over eight years of experience at FAJ, Jesper is a CPA-qualified Auditor who is dedicated to fostering a culture of collaboration, work-life balance, and teamwork. Jesper believes in the power of collective effort to drive success. As an SMSF-approved auditor, Jesper combines his extensive auditing expertise with a strong focus on compliance and accuracy.

Starting with FAJ in 2008, Jessica brings years of experience and a passion for helping clients navigate the complexities of their taxes. Her expertise lies in delivering tailored solutions to achieve the best outcomes for her clients. When not at work, Jess enjoys spending time with her three children, creating sweet treats, and planning family adventures.

Jesslyn's career path took an unexpected turn. After graduating in 2013, she worked in her family business before discovering her passion for tax work at a new role. She brings that enthusiasm to FAJ, embracing ongoing learning while pursuing her CPA. At home, Jesslyn cooks Western and traditional Chinese/Malay dishes for her family, including two sports-loving boys, and dreams of future family travel adventures.

Jo has been at FAJ since 2021, having previously worked in a variety of roles and industries in the accounting and bookkeeping fields. She prides herself on her exceptional customer service skills, and she particularly enjoys interacting regularly with clients to ensure their needs are always met.

With over 25 years-experience, including in her own practice, Julie’s knowledge is deep and varied. Julie remarried in 2021, and her favourite place to be during her down time is with partner Neville at their six-acre property in Boyup Brook. Julie feels blessed to have a wonderful, blended family including three grandchildren.

Matthew is an ambitious FAJ accountant, bringing precision and dedication to his work. Currently pursuing his CPA designation, he is set to complete the qualification by the end of 2025. Passionate about accounting and finance, Matthew strives to grow professionally and contribute to the team’s success.

Matthew joined FAJ in 1990, having graduated from Curtin as the top Tax Major. He specialises in business, property, super, and the medical industry. Matthew takes personal responsibility for business development and client services. Outside of work Matt is busy exercising and spending time with his young family.

Melissa has been part of FAJ since 1998, when she started in the admin team. In 2015 she joined our bookkeeping team and enjoys the collaborative and supportive environment. When not at work Mel spends time with her two young children, making the most of family life and creating special memories together.

Meredith joined FAJ in 1983, left in 2002 to raise her family, and returned in 2021 after a merger between accounting firms. As head of the Bookkeeping team, she values attention to detail and client relationships. In her free time, she enjoys trivia nights and discovering unique bars with family and friends.

Michael is a tax specialist and superannuation expert with over 20 years at FAJ. A local from Spearwood and Fremantle, he joined FAJ in 2005 after graduating from Murdoch University. He enjoys simplifying complex tax issues for his individual and business clients. Outside of work, Michael enjoys travelling, dining, and fitness.

Mike is a business specialist, and his clients cover some of Fremantle and the surrounding areas' most successful companies. Mike’s career started at FAJ in 1985, and he is highly experienced in tax, accounting and strategic advice. Away from FAJ, Mike enjoys a busy family life with his wife and four boys.

Mirjana, an IPA accountant and Curtin graduate, has been assisting clients with tax and business matters since 2002. She values FAJ’s supportive, family-oriented culture, which helps her maintain a work-life balance. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, attending her son’s soccer games, cooking, and travelling.

Molly joined FAJ while completing her Bachelor of Commerce at Curtin University. Now with both her degree and CPA qualifications, she is eager to tackle all upcoming tax challenges. Molly looks forward to understanding clients’ businesses to life issues and aims to provide services tailored to each client’s needs.

Natasha, an Audit Senior at FAJ, brings more than 16 years of experience to the team. Known for her dedication and precision, she plays a pivotal role in leading and managing audit engagements. Having recently become an approved SMSF Auditor, Tash is committed to excellence and professional growth.

Nicola has been part of the FAJ team since 2002, contributing in a variety of roles over the years. She values FAJ's supportive and family-oriented culture, which has helped her maintain a happy and fulfilling work-life balance. Outside of work, Nic enjoys staying active and spending time with her two daughters.

Coming from a diverse retail background, Administrator Pauline loves the routine and predictability of accountancy. She brings versatility and a positive attitude to every task, adapting easily to different administrative roles. Given her family's sportiness, Pauline spends time watching and cheering, and relaxes by browsing markets or reading romance novels.

A recent Curtin University graduate, Ren is an accountant with a unique background in hospitality and education industries in Japan. Combining analytical skills with cross-cultural experience, Ren offers fresh perspectives to financial management, dedicated to delivering insightful accounting services.

Rhonda's current role in our audit and administration divisions is well served by her extensive experience in finance over almost 20 years with FAJ. Rhonda provides administrative support to senior leadership, bringing the strong organisational and communication skills that her role demands.

Rhys commenced at FAJ in 2014, and is proud to have been named our most recent Partner. Leading a long-established FAJ team, he is experienced across a wide range of industries, and he is committed to providing tailored advice which aims to minimise tax and improve profitability.

Ryan joined FAJ in 2007, working his way up to be admitted into the partnership in 2021. Ryan’s aim is to assist clients in anything tax related, with a focus on small to medium businesses and SMSFs. Outside of the office, Ryan is kept busy with his young family and his love of sports.

Sheila has been FAJ’s Receptionist since 2009, and is often a client’s first point of contact with the firm. Sheila thoroughly enjoys talking to all of the firm’s valued clients, many of whom have become friends over the years. She looks forward to continuing at FAJ for some time to come.

Stacey is a senior accountant at FAJ, having spent most of her career with us since commencing in 2002. Stacey is knowledgeable in all tax areas, specialising in Fringe Benefits Tax and overseeing our FBT lodgements. With two children and many volunteer positions in school and sporting communities, Stacey works school-hours for work/life balance.

When Tahlia says she'll "play it by ear," she means it—she learned her entire violin repertoire by listening and practicing, accomplished enough to perform at two weddings in 2026. An avid reader of classics and aspiring traveler, Tahlia's versatility extends to her growing administrative role at FAJ, where she assists PAs, covers reception, and eagerly learns new ways to support the accounting team.
